Taking it Back
School is definitely back in session! And so is work! Yes, I am completely happy! Can’t you tell by the overuse of exclamation points? (=
Okay, so first off: The tongue piercing is healing nicely. In fact, I’ve been eating solids the past couple of days and the swelling has been going down pretty darn fast! This is definitely one of the faster healing piercings, I can tell. In a couple more weeks, I will be changing the barbell to something short because the long bar makes me speak with a lisp, which I’ll admit is quite funny, but also annoying because of this long piece of metal. lol
Anyway! School! Ok, we started on Monday, the 25th. It was super hard for me to get my butt out of bed, because I had gone to bed at like 3AM and had to be up at 7AM for the commute. But, I managed to get out of the house on time and get a nice parking spot on campus.
Mondays and Wednesday classes are my Developing Human Potential and Elementary Stats classes. My Developing Human Potential class is almost exactly like my Child Development class in Spring 2008. Seriously, so far the lectures have been like review to me because I learned it all previously. But the professor is nice. Actually, this class is a team-taught class. For the first half of the semester, we’re focusing on motor development and stuff, and the second half is like child development stuff. So yea! Stats seems like it’ll be enjoyable! A few people that I know have failed stats, but I’m hoping not to be one of those kids! lo The professor is really awesome and he cracks really lame jokes. haha!
Tuesdays and Thursdays are my Acting and Human Lifespan classes. I’m kinda nervous for acting now, I don’t know why! I guess it finally hit me that I’ll have to take risks in this class- Getting up there and acting! Oh well, I’m sure I’ll enjoy it. (Except right now I’m stumped on what to “perform” as an intro performance for today [Thursday]) And my Human Lifespan class is, once again, just like my Spring 2008 class. So it should be easy.
Overall, I’m pretty damn excited for this semester as I’ve stated before! Should be easy and I think the only challenging class I have is Stats. hehe
And I think I’ve found the sorority that I want to rush/pledge for! I am hoping to rush/pledge for Lambda Sigma Gamma, a multi-cultural sorority. They do not have a house to live in like the national panhellenic ones, in fact, a lot of the sisters live on camps, off campus and commute also! And they do a lot of fundraisers to keep the member fees low, and also to support California’s Head Start Program. And since I am going into the field of education, doing stuff closely related to the Head Start program is just amazing! So, these next few weeks will be busy because I will be attending socials and informationals. I will be working very hard during their recruitment and joining process, so if I disappear, you’ll know why!
Oh yes, and I started work on Tuesday, the 26th. It felt so nice to see my kids again! but I was missing a couple of kids. My 5th grade boys, Mikhail and Darren, are no longer there. So I was quite depressed because I wouldn’t see them ever again! )= But I’m sure they’re doing well in 6th grade, which is middle school for them. Anyway. The first day was quite crazy, but fun. Everyone was still getting situated and whatnot. We have a cute group of kinders. I think I’m going to have fun with them!
That’s all that I have for now. Derek and I celebrated out 53 month anniversary on the 27th (yesterday) and we went to our favorite Chinese food restaurant. (=
